Snow in Pittsburgh

Feb 23, 2010
o.k, back again and really going to make an effort to keep up with this.
The snow here has been generating quite a few phone call from my clients. Each wanting to book a few days into my schedule to do reapirs to their faux finishes where they have water damage due to the snow. I guess this will be a good place to start. In the next few weeks I will document the process of these projects. Right now the insurance companies, and drywall reapair workers need to take care of their part, and I'll go in within the month to finish everything up.

I also have a few new projects in the works and I thought it would be nice to walk through that process here too
So pictures will soon follow.

January Again!- Already

Where does the time go? This year's resolution is to become more active on this blog as well as other groups I have joined. Again where does the time go? January is usually slow for me (business wise) so this month I have spent my time updating the showroom, and working with new products and techniques.

Happy New Year everyone!

There has been a lot going on around here sicne I last checked in.

A trip to The Faux Event in September, This was a great trip, do many new ideas, products and classses!

October proved to be a very busy moth for painting in clients homes, I doubled up on jobs a couple weeks this month. It was very tiring, but well worth it. I will post some pictures of these recent jobs soon,

In November I helped out at a Habitat for Humanity event called Village of Hope. This was where many different companies donated time and money to building and decorating paly houses that were raffled off, all benefiting Habitat for Humanity. Chris McRandal of V2K window decor and more, asked me to do this with her and I am so glad I was able to say yes.

The winners were picked just last week - This was so much fun to be a part of - I hope I'm asked to participate again next year!

Most of my "free" time lately has been spent getting a new booth together for the Pittsburgh Remodeling Expo and the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show. This year Creative Lane and I will be joining forces at the shows. Doing this will allow us to spend more time talking to and explaing with those who stop by exactly what we do, We have rented twice the amount of space and are going to reveal some brand new techniques and finishes. We will also be doing demonstrations of a few of our finishes while we are there.
The Remodeling Expo is January .18 - 20 and the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show is March 7-16. Stop by to see what is new!

With all this going on we have made changes in the hours that the studio is open. New Regular hours are Thursday evenings 4-7 and Saturdays 10 -4. As always - other hours are available by appointment, just give us a call 412 -833- 8334. Otherwise if you are passing by and see us in here working on projects or samples, stop in - the door is always open!

A Work of Art Studio

We are making changes here at A Work of Art Studio. Starting in October we will extend our hours to: Tuesday and Thursday evenings 3-7, Fridays and Saturdays 10 -4. Over the summer I had a hard time keeping the studio open any regular hours (other than Saturdays). My faux finishing had me working in homes all over the Pittsburgh area - and really cutting in to any "extra" time to be creating in the studio. Bringing in two new artists will allow us to get busy again with commissioned furniture pieces and faux painting classes. Please stop in, the studio is full of ideas and inspiration for your own projects, 6534 Library Road South Park PA 15129.
